Our client builds a software platform that helps owners and operators of utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) monitor, control and optimise their assets. They combine deep expertise in energy storage and renewables with data analytics, so that more clean energy can reliably power the grid. They are a team of around 25 people who value user focus, transparency, reliability, and data-driven decisions.

We are looking for a DevOps/ Platform Engineer (AWS) to support the reliability, scalability, and continuous

improvement of Cellect’s cloud platform and development infrastructure.

The role focuses on AWS cloud infrastructure, deployment processes, monitoring and observability, automation,

and production support. Working cross-functionally with our development teams, you will help ensure that our

cloud services remain reliable, secure, and efficient, while continuously improving the tools and processes that

support software delivery and operations.

You will also design and develop internal tools and automation that enable our Delivery and Operations teams to

perform recurring support and operational activities more efficiently and autonomously, reducing manual effort

and improving scalability across the organisation.

The DevOps/Platform Engineer reports directly to the Head of Product Development and collaborates across

development, Delivery, and Operations teams to strengthen Cellect’s cloud infrastructure, development

workflows, and operational capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and improve Cellect’s AWS environments, including infrastructure, access, monitoring, backups,

and reliability.

• Improve the shared CI/CD framework and deployment practices, while supporting development teams

with their service-specific pipelines.

• Strengthen monitoring, observability, and alerting practices to improve visibility into system health and

enable faster identification and resolution of production issues

• Support the investigation and resolution of production incidents, contribute to root-cause analysis, and

implement improvements to prevent recurring issues.

• Automate repetitive infrastructure and operational tasks.

• Develop and maintain internal tools for Delivery and Operations, including monitoring, administration,

recovery, and other self-service functionality.

• Work with development teams to improve the reliability and operation of the services they build.

• Keep operational documentation, procedures, and runbooks up to date.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability

Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a similar role.

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field.

• Hands-on experience operating AWS-based production environments.

• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices

• Experience designing, maintaining, or improving CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment

processes.

• Experience with monitoring, observability, and alerting in production environments.

• Scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash/Shell, or similar languages.

• Good understanding of cloud architecture fundamentals, APIs, databases, networking, IAM, and cloud

security principles.

• Experience troubleshooting production systems and incidents, identifying root causes, and

implementing sustainable solutions.

• Experience building scripts, automation, or lightweight internal tooling to simplify infrastructure or

operational workflows.

• Ability to work effectively across Development, Delivery, and Operations teams, communicating

technical topics clearly and collaboratively.

• Professional working proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, CloudWatch, IAM, or

similar services within the AWS ecosystem.

• Experience with observability platforms such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or

equivalent tools.

• Experience designing or developing internal platforms, administration tools, operational tooling, or

self-service capabilities for Engineering, Delivery, or Operations teams.

• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, or similar technologies.

• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging or streaming technologies such as Apache

Kafka, or equivalent platforms.

• Experience working with SaaS, cloud-native, or data-intensive platforms.

• Experience with backup, designing or improving resilience and disaster-recovery practices in cloud

production environments.

• Experience improving developer experience, deployment standards, or platform engineering

practices across multiple development teams.
